Rooms and Retreat Fees

Mercè

Mercè is our largest room at 28.5 m2 with three elegant windows that open onto a slender balcony. Light-filled and spacious with stunning views, it commands the rear of the villa. It sleeps one or two people and comes with a writing table and chair per person.

Mercè has an ample, characterful en-suite bathroom with bath with shower attachment (see photo). Note that there is not a separate shower.

Retreat fee for Mercè: £2,450 for single occupancy, £1,800 per person for double occupancy.

Núria

Núria is a lovely, light-filled, high-ceilinged room. It’s on the side of the villa and has spectacular views from the slender balcony over the forested plains and across to the mountains. It sleeps one and comes with a writing table and chair. It is 12.5m2. Núria shares a shower room with Montserrat.

Retreat fee for Núria: £2,200.

Montserrat

Majestic Montserrat (20m2) is a very spacious, high-ceilinged, light-filled room at the front of the villa. It has a slender balcony with views over the garden and obliquely over the forested plain. It sleeps one and comes with a writing table and chair. It shares a shower room with Núria.

Retreat fee for Montserrat: £2,300 for single occupancy.

Libertad

Libertad (21m2) is a wonderfully spacious, high-ceilinged, light-filled room at the front of the villa with a slender balcony and views over the garden. It sleeps one or two and comes with one or two writing tables and chairs. Libertad has an ensuite shower room.

Retreat fee for Libertad: £2,400 for single occupancy, £1,750 per person for double occupancy.

Pilar

Pilar is in the farmhouse part of Casa La Daina. It has sloping ceilings and overlooks the garden. It sleeps one and comes with a writing desk and table. It is 16m2. It shares a shower room with Carmen.

Retreat fee for Pilar: £2,200.

Carmen

Characterful Carmen is in the old farmhouse part of Casa La Daina. It overlooks the garden. It sleeps one in a double bed, features original stone ‘lovers seats’ by the window and has its own ensuite washbasin. It has a writing table and chair and is 15m2. It shares a shower room and toilet with Pilar.

Retreat fee for Carmen: £2,200.

Federica

Federica (15m2) is at the back of the old farmhouse part of Casa La Daina. Federica has sole use of the adjacent shower room. It has its own writing table and chair. It opens onto an extremely spacious upstairs living room where there are additional writing spaces (though these are not private).

Ana

Comfortable Ana is in the old farmhouse part of Casa La Daina. It’s on the side of the house with no dramatic views but plenty of natural light. It’s the only ground floor room in Casa La Daina. It sleeps one in a large double bed and comes with its own writing table and chair. It is 12m2. Ana has a lovely en-suite shower room.

Retreat fee for Ana: £2,300.

There are extra non-private writing spaces throughout the villa and farmhouse.
If you’re interested in sharing Mercè or Libertad, consider inviting another writing friend so you’re sharing with someone you know. Alternatively, we’ll aim to pair you with someone suitable. Contact us to know more.

Included in the retreat fee

a 40-minute Zoom consultation with PRISCILLA MORRIS before the retreat to hear where you are in your writing journey and to set your writing intentions.
pick up and drop off from Santa Cristina D’Aro coach stop, if required
6 nights’ accommodation at Casa La Daina.
6 x self-serve breakfasts, 5 x buffet lunches, 5 x 3-course dinners. Coffee, tea, biscuits and the occasional cake. A welcome and goodbye drink. Light canapés on the first and last night.
10 x 1-hour creative writing classes facilitated by Melissa Fu, 4 x 2-hour workshops/discussions and 1 group reading facilitated by Priscilla Morris
a 40-minute individual mentoring consultation with Priscilla during the retreat.
two (optional) guided walks
access to swimming pool (unheated), two mountain bikes and helmets, a couple of yoga mats and props, billiards, board games.
bedrooms come with soap, bed linen, blankets, hair dryers, a big and small towel per person, a writing table and chair per person
Wi-Fi, use of washing machine, iron, board, two fully equipped kitchens (limited access to the kitchen in the villa while Lucy works from late morning till dinner time, but tea, coffee and biscuits will be available)
transport to and from a lovely harbour-side restaurant on the Wednesday night (note the price of the meal is not included).
a follow-up 40-minute Zoom consultation with Priscilla after the course to consolidate learning and draw up a continuation plan.

Not included in the fee

flights, trains or other means of transport to and from Spain. Please arrange these yourself and let us know.
transport to and from Casa La Daina (unless you travel to/from Santa Cristina D’Aro for a free pick up / drop off)
wine and other drinks at dinner. (We will sell good Spanish wine at cost price, approx. 8-15 euros a bottle.)
one dinner at a lovely harbour-side restaurant in Sant Feliu de Guixols. The excellent three-course set menu is about 30 euros (not including drinks) or you can order à la carte, if you wish.
printing at 40 cents a page.
high-quality road bikes and helmets. We’d be happy to arrange these, if given a couple of weeks’ notice.
